"Being a good writer is its own reward."

About Creative Adventures

Over the past thirty years many fine writers have helped me find my voice, develop my vision, and perfect my craft. Even today, as a well-published and award-winning poet and writer, I am still learning and growing as an artist.  I find that mentoring other writers creates a special, nurturing experience for me as well.  I do not know everything and I will not claim that I can make you a financially successful author.  What I can do is help you become the best writer you are capable of becoming.

What Clients Say

“Laurie has the skill to take ordinary prose and turn it into something powerful, electrifying, and publishable.  I have written fifty books, six of which have won awards, and would never consider submitting a manuscript without subjecting it to Laurie’s visionary editing.” --W.C. Jameson, Beating the Devil

“Laurie is a woman with an acute eye for writing, and a wonderful heart for teaching.  She’s an acclaimed poet and an astute reader, a woman with a wide life experience, which always makes a fine writer and the best sort of compassionate critic.  Her teaching is exemplary.” --Paulette Jiles, Enemy Women

"Without Laurie's gentle encouragement, I would have never even tried to be a writer.  Without her serious and conscientious critiques, I wouldn't have grown as a writer."  Melinda Green Harvey, Freelance Author

"Laurie is a thorough reader who catches errors and inconsistencies on the page.  She engages in dialogue with writers enabling them to write the story they want to write in their own voice.  She's especially adept at utilizing the senses and helping writers to bring original, even poetic, language to their work."  Jan Williams, Texas Duet
